PoLAR
PoLAR is devoted to the anthropology of law and politics, most broadly conceived. It publishes work that is distinguished by its innovative definition of problems, ethnographic orientation, or theoretical outlook. We welcome submissions of manuscripts between 4,000 and 8,000 words in length (including notes and references). More information is available on PoLAR‘s website, http://www.polaronline.org/
On-line, open-access, book reviews are available! With the Spring 2011 issue of PoLAR: Political and Legal Anthropology Review, we launched a virtual supplement.
OTHER NEWS! Virtual issue on non-governmental organizations (NGOs). This virtual issue provides a companion to the 2010 issue, bringing together nine articles previously published in our journal on the topic of NGOs. From 1998 through 2009, articles in PoLAR tracked the growing role of international and private organizations in changes all over the globe — from Nepal to Zimbabwe to Mexico. More virtual issues to follow in 2012!

All word counts should include notes and references. Prospective authors may submit manuscripts in one of two ways. Please notify the PoLAR editorial office by email (PoLARjournal@gmail.com) if you intend to send a hard-copy submission rather than an electronic submission. Manuscripts submitted to PoLAR must not be under consideration by another journal or have been previously published. For specific guidelines pertaining to textual elements, see the American Anthropological Association Style Guide. For a checklist of manuscript submission requirements, please click here.
